Underwater Lava Flow

Lava Dive in Hawaii

Here’s a video of lava as it flows underwater off the coast of the big island of Hawaii. It was shot by an experienced group of lava divers in 2008.  It is stunning to watch how an island is formed, as it is being expanded! The video says it is a dive and it looks like one. However, I can’t imagine how hot the water must be. It is unbelievable that you could dive so close to flowing lava.
