Mysterious Utah Whale
How Did a Whale End Up on a Farm in Utah?
A dairy farmer from Farmington, Utah, a small town near the Great Salt Lake, found the remains of a whale in his field while searching for a lost cow. The whale was a 12-foot long humpback that was hundreds of miles from its natural habitat.
The Farmington Police Department was called in to investigate. They were at a loss to explain how the whale got there. There were no tire or drag marks to indicate that perhaps someone was playing a prank. A possible clue came when they found that there had been a few reports of strange flying objects over the area the prior couple of days. However, the police don’t believe the incidents are related.
“We are verifying every clue and information that we have, and I assure you that we will explore every other possibility before we conclude that a UFO has anything to do with the case” added Captain Dawson.
A team of biologists were brought in to run tests to see if the whale could have lived in the Great Salt Lake which is only a few miles away. But then there would still be the question of “how did it get there?”.
This is a great story! However, upon further investigation it was discovered to be a hoax. There was no whale, no farmer, and no Captain Dawson. The story did manage to tie up the 911 phone lines with calls from residents. The Farmington Police had to make a post on their Facebook page explaining that it was a hoax and for people to please not call 911.
