Off the coast of Australia, a 10 foot great white shark was bitten virtually in half. It is believed that the attacking shark was a 20 foot great white. The smaller shark had bee caught on a drum line – a hook hanging from a float.
Even though cannibalism is rareĀ it does occur on occasion. In South African populationsĀ there appears to be a dominance hierarchy with females dominating males, larger sharks dominating smaller ones, and residents dominating new comers.
