Don’t Be Afraid of This Giant

This giant sunfish was filmed off the coast of Portugal. It is the heaviest fish in the ocean based on weight. It weighs as much as 5000 pounds and measures 12 x 15 feet. It is dwarfed only the the whale shark which grows up to 40 feet and 45,000 pounds. As you can see in the video his mouth never closes.

The sunfish is harmless to humans and actually seems to like the divers. Unfortunately for the fish it is considered a delicacy in Japan.
